An adventure into hidden worlds
Welcome to my personal website!
I am Sandra Parkin and I’m currently dividing my time between my home in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, and Blyth, Northumberland.
My interest in photographing and recording invertebrtes began some fifteen years ago, when I moved house with my daughter, whose interest in invertebrates from a young age had in turn fuelled my interest.
It was then that I first let my lawn grow long, providing a space for wildflowers to grow as an accompaniment to my developing garden beds.
The garden was soon filled with invertebrates that came to live, feed and mate there, and it astounded me what I found in that small garden, and what I continue to find in my current garden.
I find the relationships between different species of invertebrates, and between invertebrates and plants, fascinate me, and are often quite complex, and I hope to highlight some of these relationships in my blogs, as well as writing more generally about some of the different species I come across.
